Trying to find a person from 60 years ago. Looking for some help.?

I know this is a long shot, but I'm trying to find my great aunts boy friend from 60 years ago. I've tried searching around google, not sure if anyone else might have any suggestions. A bit about the man: His name is Robert Horton, his father was the song writer Vaughn Horton (most famous for Mocking Bird Hill), mother was Margaret B Horton. He was born in the 1930's. Lived in NY at the time they were dating. I'm just trying to find information on him, see if he is still alive. I've tried a few sites but they want money :-\ Anyone have any ideas or maybe will have luck looking around? Thanks :)
