Crab trap and mullet?

Cant find the right destination where to put this question.. I have a crab trap and I usually put croaker in the trap but last night I put a mullet in their about the size of my toy chihuahua. I live in Webster..Texas if that makes a difference. My over all question is will the attempt to eat the mullet? Or should I just stick to croaker? Also the water I have the trap in is brackish water.
