Is this a fair way to treat employees?

You didn't say how old you are, so i'm not too sure what rules apply. If they are in violation they will probably have to let you go and give the job to someone older so they can run their business without having scheduling difficulties. It is not the companies problem or responsibility that it takes some people's parents 20-30 minutes to pick them up.
