Christians: Why not continue to require evidence?

I do require evidence for the claims in the Bible; I just don't require evidence for all its claims. Just like if someone were to claim several things to me, and I could investigate half of them, I would investigate those half. If those half turned out to be true, then I would trust them on the other half, having established that this person was a reliable source of information. That's how I treat the Bible.
